Lionel Postwar O-Gauge No. 1061 Steam Locomotive and No. 2466W Whistle Tender - A vintage Lionel postwar O-gauge model steam locomotive and matching whistle tender. The locomotive body is constructed of molded black plastic and features a metal chassis with metal drive wheels and side rods. The cab sides are marked with the number 1061. The underside of the locomotive bears a metal plate embossed with the text: BUILT IN THE U.S. OF AMERICA BY THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK, N.Y. The accompanying tender, model 2466W, is also constructed of molded black plastic with a simulated coal load and features white LIONEL LINES lettering on both sides. The tender is equipped with an internal electric whistle mechanism, metal handrails at the rear, and a functional knuckle-style coupler. The underside of the tender is stamped with the model number 2466W. Both pieces exhibit significant accumulation of dust and surface grime. There are minor surface scuffs and scratches consistent with play wear. The white printed lettering remains clear and legible. Mechanical and electrical components, including the locomotive motor and the tender whistle, are untested.
