Lionel No. 2020 O-Gauge 6-8-6 Steam Turbine Locomotive and No. 6466WX Whistling Tender - This set features a vintage Lionel O-gauge model train, consisting of a No. 2020 6-8-6 steam turbine locomotive and a matching No. 6466WX whistling tender. The locomotive is constructed with a die-cast metal shell and chassis, patterned after the Pennsylvania Railroad S2 turbine. The tender has a plastic shell on a metal frame. Markings include 2020 on the cab sides, MADE BY LIONEL on the boiler side, and LIONEL LINES on the tender sides. A red keystone logo with the number 5200 is present on the boiler front. The underside of the tender is stamped 6466WX. The locomotive is equipped with a six-wheel pilot truck, eight driving wheels, and a six-wheel trailing truck. Pick-up rollers for center-rail electric power are present on both the locomotive and tender. This model was produced in the post-war era between 1946 and 1949. Both pieces show significant signs of age and long-term storage, including a heavy accumulation of dust and surface grime. There is moderate paint wear and thinning on sharp edges and raised details. The front pilot truck appears slightly misaligned. The internal electric motor and tender whistle mechanism are untested.
