Lionel Postwar O Gauge 671 S-2 Steam Turbine Locomotive and 671W Whistling Tender - This lot features a Lionel O-gauge model steam locomotive and matching whistling tender. The locomotive is a model 671 Pennsylvania Railroad S-2 steam turbine, characterized by its 6-8-6 wheel arrangement. The locomotive features a die-cast metal boiler shell with applied metal handrails. Visible markings include the number 671 on the cab sides and a red Pennsylvania Railroad keystone decal on the boiler front. The chassis includes a pilot truck, trailing truck, and two electrical pick-up rollers designed for O-gauge three-rail track operation. The accompanying model 671W tender is also constructed of die-cast metal with Lionel Lines printed on the sides. It features a molded composite coal load. The underside of the tender is marked 671W, indicating the unit is equipped with an internal air-whistle mechanism. The set is in used vintage condition, showing moderate signs of play wear, surface scuffs, and paint loss. There is significant dust accumulation across both pieces. A distinct hole is visible in the molded coal pile on the top of the tender. All mechanical and electrical components, including the motor, smoke unit, and whistle, are untested. This lot does not include original packaging or boxes.
