Lionel No. 41 U.S. Army Transportation Corps O Gauge Gas Turbine Switcher - A Lionel No. 41 U.S. Army Transportation Corps diesel-style switcher locomotive, commonly identified as a gas turbine model. This O-gauge locomotive features an unpainted black plastic body mounted on a die-cast metal frame and chassis. The design includes three molded exhaust stacks on the hood and a silver-colored plastic horn mounted on the roof. The motorized mechanism is equipped with metal side rods, center-rail pick-up rollers, and a gear-driven motor. Fixed couplers are present at both ends. The front of the unit features the embossed manufacturer name LIONEL. The sides of the hood are heat-stamped with the text UNITED STATES ARMY in white. The cab is marked with the number 41 and the Transportation Corps wheel logo and text. The locomotive is in used, original condition with visible surface wear and dust from storage. There is a significant area of yellowish-green discoloration or staining on one side of the cab. The white heat-stamped lettering and logos remain largely crisp and legible. The metal side rods, handrails, and horn appear to be intact. The item is untested for mechanical or electrical functionality. No original packaging is included.
