The item is officially licensed by Lionel Trains, Inc. The aircraft features a characteristic orange and blue Lionel-themed livery, including the Lionel lion mascot on the tail and the text Fly With The Lion on a trailing banner. The item is constructed from die-cast metal. It functions as a mechanical coin bank where coins are inserted by removing the snap-off cockpit windscreen and retrieved by rotating the radial engine assembly counterclockwise. The lot includes the original illustrated cardboard packaging which displays technical diagrams of the bank's operation.
