Běla Kolčáková (1937) - GREEN LANDSCAPE 1965 Green Landscape - View from Vyšný Kubín to Jasenová. Oil on plywood 78,5x97,5 cm (88,5x109,5 cm), signed lower right ”B. Kolčáková”. Artist`s label on the verso. Framed. ”The painting was made shortly after I finished my studies. I was enchanted by the Lower Orava landscape, which, with its plasticity, reminded me of large reclining female figures. It is partly painted en plein air, but finished in the studio.” These are the artist`s words commenting on her memory of the creation of the painting. The text is from a note on the back of a photograph of the work, signed by the artist on October 5, 2024. From the collection of PhDr. Jiří Langer, the first director of the Orava Gallery, a gift from the artist in memory of their mutual collaboration. The painting is accompanied by the mentioned handwritten text and signature of the artist.
