Miroslav Krobot (1948) - Miroslav Krobot (1948). UNTITLED 2007 Acrylic on canvas, 91×90 cm (96×96 cm), verso on the frame in pencil and on the canvas ”Krobot 2007”, recto marked upper right ”89”. A painting from 2007 represents a characteristic position of the artist`s work, based on a systematic exploration of the relationship between structure, rhythm, and optical perception of the image. The composition is built on the principle of a repeated linear grid, whose layering and subtle colour shifts create a vibrating pictorial field with a pronounced spatial and kinetic effect. The dominant green tone is modulated by the translucence of red and dark accents, which disrupt the stability of the geometric system and evoke an illusion of depth and movement. The viewer`s eye is drawn into the centre of the composition, where the regular structure gradually condenses and creates an effect of optical pulsation, reminiscent of the principles of visual interference or moiré. The work can be situated within the broader context of contemporary geometric and constructive abstraction, which builds on the tradition of Op Art and Concrete Art, yet interprets it through the medium of painting and individual artistic handwriting. The artist does not strive for the cold rationality of a system, but rather for the painting as a living visual organism, in which order and its disruption become the fundamental means of expression.
