MONUMENTAL HANGING PALACE TEXTILE WITH GOLD METAL EMBROIDERY – ZARDOSI - Persia / Northern India (probably Kashmir or Agra) Late 19th – early 20th century A large hanging textile panel of dark red velvet, entirely covered with gold and silver metallic embroidery in the Zardosi technique. The ornamental composition features a central medallion with vegetal and floral arabesques, surrounded by a rich border. Dimensions: 220×160 cm. Condition A. The preservation of the textile is exceptionally good, with only minimal patina on the metallic threads. Given the scope of the work, the quality of materials, and the technical mastery, this is a remarkable example of high-end Zardosi craft.
