HANGING PLATE - Germany, Bayreuth, 2nd quarter of the 18th century (Knöller period) A flat plate with a raised, once-folded rim, grey-blue glazed faience, cobalt-painted basket with fruit and two birds in the well, surrounded by rich floral-ornamental decoration (décor in the style of the painter Johann Valentin Bontemps (1698–1775), active in Ansbach, Nuremberg, Künersberg and Bayreuth, among other places). Fitted with a hanging mount. Diameter 22,5 cm. Brush mark ”BK/i”. Condition A/B. Negligible abrasions on the rim and minor manufacturing defects. Provenance: from the collection of PhDr. Miroslav Boček (1915–2005).
