TUREEN LID AND PLATE - Upper Hungary, Holíč, Holitscher Fayencemanufaktur (or Moravia, Hranice), and Silesia, Proskau, 2nd half of the 18th century A faience tureen lid, oval, slightly ribbed shape, the knob in the form of a three-dimensional pear on a stem with a leaf, decorated on the white glaze with painted floral motifs in muffle colours. 27×22 cm. Unmarked. Chip on the rim. A flat plate with a wavy rim, white-glazed, painted in cobalt with floral décor in the well and on the rim. Diameter 23.5 cm. Silesia, Proskau. Condition B. Minor abrasions, craquelure in the glaze. Provenance: from the collection of PhDr. Miroslav Boček (1915–2005).
