Lisa Garfinkle - Yellow Hostage Ribbon in Kalaniyot. - Lisa Garfinkle - Yellow Hostage Ribbon in Kalaniyot. Lisa Garfinkle is originally from London. She is an elementary school art teacher,   living her dream job by sharing her passion for creativity and inspiring young minds.  She is married with three children, two of whom serve in the IDF,   our youngest  daughter is an officer stationed in the south. On October 7th, her base was  infiltrated. The design of my helmet is inspired by the hostage posters she sees on fences at nearly every intersection during my travels. In her design, the fence is bent  into the shape of a yellow hostage ribbon, with kalaniyot—the red poppy flowers of  the south - rising proudly from the earth, symbolizing resilience and remembrance  amidst hardship. All proceeds will be donated to the purchase of protective equipment for the IDF reserve soldiers.
