Debbie Mendel - October 7th Decoupage Collage. - Debbie Mendel - October 7th Decoupage Collage. My name is Debbie Mendel , I made Aliyah from South Africa, 5 years ago. This  meaningful project , decorating a helmet with decoupage words and images was a  platform to reflect reality, hope, fears and prayers for our soldiers and our country. The words are layered in a way to represent the balance between reality and hope.  Each word or image represents a different layer of emotion or a different part of History, the entire helmet tells a story of pain, strength and hope for a better future. All proceeds will be donated to the purchase of protective equipment for the IDF reserve soldiers.
