This military watch issued to the German Army during World War II features the ”D” military symbol engraved on the case back. While this series was produced by several Swiss watch manufacturers at the time, its basic specifications include a screw-back waterproof case and a black mirror dial. While most models are engraved with ”DH, ” the initials for ”Dienstuhr Heer, ” which means ”official military watch” in German, Pronto's German Army models all feature only the ”D.” Pronto, an unfamiliar name, was founded in Le Noirmont, Switzerland in 1890. It's a long-established manufacturer that has released a wide range of watches, from simple three-hand watches and automatic models to complex timepieces like chronographs. While German Army models tend to be somewhat smaller, Pronto's models are characterized by their slightly larger size. The unique dial design, featuring a jet-black mirror-finish black dial and luminous Arabic numerals, pencil hands, and railway indexes, highlights the aesthetic beauty of military watches. The case shows signs of use and minor scratches, but considering its military background, it is in relatively good condition with little damage.
