Showpiece binding, executed in red morocco with gilt tooling on both boards. “Lace”-type tools at the edges of both boards. On the back board there is a coat of arms of the King of Sardinia Victor Emanuel II. This copy has three (3) super-libros, two heraldic and one “speaking”. On the front board the recipient is stamped: to the King, and on the gilt and colored gauffered edges the royal monogram is in the center, executed with great mastery. Wide raised bands decorated with a beautiful gilt tool. Endpapers in olive-green moiré silk. Retains the red silk bookmark ribbon. This work is certainly of French origin, although its binder is unknown.This title refers to one of the most important historical works on French viticulture, published in 1855 by Jean Fleury Lacoste (1803-1871).COLLECTOR’S COPY, for its uniqueness and artistic quality. Filets et fers de type « dentelle » aux extrémités des deux plats. Au second plat figure un blason du roi de Sardaigne Victor Emanuel II. Cet exemplaire possède trois (3) super-libros, deux héraldiques et un parlant. Sur le plat supérieur est gravé le destinataire : au Roi, et sur les tranches ciselées, dorées et polychromes, le monogramme royal au centre, d’une grande maîtrise. Dos à nerfs larges décorés d’un beau fer doré. Gardes en soie moirée vert olive. Conserve le signet en soie rouge. Ce travail est certainement d’origine française, mais nous en ignorons toutefois l’auteur.Ce titre se rapporte à l’un des ouvrages historiques les plus importants sur la viticulture française, publié en 1855 par Jean Fleury Lacoste (1803-1871).EXEMPLAIRE DE COLLECTION, par son caractère singulier et sa qualité artistique.
