Conway explored and climbed Spitsbergen in the summers of 1896 and 1897. The research he carried out in preparation for these visits formed the basis of the present work, which includes a history of the archipelago, a bibliography, and cartography. Copy from the private library of the King of Italy Vittorio Emanuel III, as indicated by the ex-libris on the endpaper, with the number XL-7-4. It also preserves an embossed green advertising label from Livraria Casanova of Turin, where the copy was acquired. GOOD CONDITION. FR NO MAN´S LAND. Les recherches qu’il effectua en préparation de ces visites constituèrent la base de l’ouvrage présent, qui comprend une histoire de l’archipel, une bibliographie et une cartographie. Exemplaire provenant de la bibliothèque privée du roi d’Italie Vittorio Emanuel III, comme l’indique l’ex-libris sur la garde, portant le numéro XL-7-4.
