Minton Majolica Fish in a Basket Platter - A Minton majolica oval fish platter, circa 1870. The earthenware vessel features a high-relief molded fish resting on a bed of green leaves in a trompe l'oeil arrangement. The border is designed with a brown basketweave pattern and green accents, finished in vibrant polychrome glazes. The underside of the piece displays an impressed MINTON maker mark. The item is shown for scale next to a 16.9 oz beverage bottle.
