English Jacobean Style Oak Geometric Chest - English Jacobean style chest constructed from solid oak featuring a rectangular hinged top. The interior consists of a single open compartment reinforced with later wooden battens. The front facade is decorated with geometric molded panels arranged in four tiers. The left side contains four panels, with the top and bottom panels featuring diamond-shaped inlays of a contrasting lighter wood. The right side is composed of two larger vertical molded panels, each fitted with a brass bail handle. A central metal lock plate is positioned between the panel sections. The brass hardware and the lock plate are later additions. The chest is supported by stile feet and exhibits a darkened patina throughout. Height: 32 inches Width: 52 inches Depth: 21 inches.
