Federal Style Inlaid Mahogany Linen Press on Chest - A Federal style mahogany linen press on chest of two-piece construction. The upper cupboard section features a prominent cornice with dentil molding over two large doors. The doors are decorated with light-wood cross-banded borders and inner stringing with re-entrant corners. The lower section contains three graduated full-width drawers, each featuring matching inlaid panels and stringing. The drawers are fitted with brass swan-neck bale handles on circular backplates and small brass escutcheons. The unit is raised on shaped ogee bracket feet. The primary wood is mahogany with light-wood cross-banding and stringing, likely satinwood or maple. No maker marks, stamps, or signatures are visible.
