Karpen Hand Painted Spanish Revival Style Upholstered Hall Bench - Attributed to Formations, this Califia model hall or window bench is constructed from dark-stained walnut. The long rectangular seat is upholstered in red leather, secured with a continuous border of brass nailhead trim around the base of the seat frame. The apron and legs feature hand-painted scrolling and foliate motifs in a palette of green, orange, and yellow. The bench is supported by six square-section legs. The base is reinforced with a complex stretcher system comprising a central longitudinal stretcher with turned elements, joined to the end legs by curved, U-shaped stretchers. A small white adhesive tag with the number 0024 is present on the front right leg. Height: 18 inches Width: 65 inches Depth: 18 inches.
