Two Hand-Painted Porcelain Floral Plates Including a Stouffer Studio Reticulated Plate Signed by Appel - This lot consists of two hand-painted porcelain plates. The first item is a round serving plate, resembling the MZ Toscana style, featuring two pierced, scroll-style handles and a scalloped rim. The decoration includes a central well with hand-painted yellow and pink roses on a white ground, encircled by a gilded stencil-work ring and a wide band of green. The second item is a reticulated porcelain plate featuring a heavily scrolled, gilded rim with four sections of pierced lattice-work, consistent with the Clover Mold 82. The face is decorated with a soft, hand-painted scene of wild roses in shades of white and pink. This plate is signed on the front in green script Appel / Stouffer, indicating it was decorated by the artist Appel for the J.H. Stouffer Co. decorating studio of Chicago, Illinois.
