D.F. Haynes and Company Chesapeake Pottery Art Pottery Pedestal - This American art pottery pedestal was produced by D.F. Haynes and Company at the Chesapeake Pottery in Baltimore, Maryland. The item is constructed from glazed earthenware with a cream-colored body. The classical form features a flat circular top, a waisted neck, a bulbous central body, and a flared base supported by four integral scroll-form feet. The decoration consists of a shaded, airbrushed-style ground in olive green and reddish-brown tones. It is further ornamented with two floral transfers depicting pink and yellow roses with green foliage. The piece is heavily molded with Rococo-style scrollwork and acanthus leaf patterns, which are highlighted with hand-applied gold gilt. The interior underside of the base bears a black stamp within a rectangular border with the characters HAYNES in a slight upward arch and BALTO below.
