Victorian Style Carved Walnut Side Chair with Needlepoint Upholstery - This single side chair is designed in the Rococo Revival style and is constructed from a dark-toned hardwood, likely walnut, featuring burl wood veneers on the front seat rail. The chair displays an ornate, pierced crest rail carved with floral and C-scroll motifs, positioned above a single horizontal carved splat. The padded seat is upholstered in a needlepoint tapestry depicting a central floral bouquet in shades of pink, yellow, and green, surrounded by a scrolling border on a cream-colored ground. The chair rests on cabriole front legs and splayed, square-tapered rear legs. The reverse of the chair shows modern reinforcement, including wooden battens and screws securing the crest rail to the stiles, indicating mid-20th-century construction or later repair. A white inventory sticker marked 0054 is attached to the front seat rail. No maker marks or labels are present.
