Large Floor Standing Hardwood Schoolroom Abacus - This floor standing schoolroom abacus is constructed from a hardwood frame with a natural finish. The frame features a scrolled crest on one side and is supported by a T-shaped floor stand with arched wooden braces. The counting mechanism consists of ten vertical metal rods, each holding a series of black painted spherical beads. A vertical wooden divider separates the rods from an open section on the right side of the frame. A small white paper label is affixed to the center of the scrolled side piece with illegible ink characters. No other maker marks or stamps are visible. 76 inches H x 31 inches W x 20 inches D.
