Southeast Asian Carved and Gilded Wood Buddha Altar Stand - This two-tiered wooden altar stand is designed in the Southeast Asian tradition, likely originating from Thailand or Burma and dating to the mid-20th century. The piece is constructed from carved wood with a red lacquer finish and gilded accents. The upper platform features a stepped design, supported by an ornate apron with pierced carvings of foliate scrolls and central floral motifs. These decorative elements are embellished with inset colored glass cabochons in shades of green, red, and white, a technique consistent with Thai khruang khao or Burmese thayo craftwork. The stand is supported by four turned, baluster-form legs that connect to a lower square shelf and terminate in tapered feet. No maker marks or signatures are present on the item.
