Queen Anne Style Mahogany Slant-Front Desk on Frame - A Queen Anne style slant-front desk on frame, also referred to as a bureau on stand. The piece is constructed of mahogany with highly figured mahogany veneers on the slant front. The base features four cabriole legs with carved shell motifs at the knees, ending in pad feet, joined by a scalloped and carved decorative apron. The slant front opens to reveal a red felt-lined writing surface and an interior fitted with six pigeonhole compartments and a single central small drawer. The fall-front is supported by two pull-out lopers with small brass knobs. Hardware includes brass batwing-style pulls on the lower faux-front drawer and a matching brass escutcheon on the slant front. A white rectangular inventory sticker with the numbers 0141 is present on the lower left of the slant front. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible.
