George III Style Mahogany Secretary Bookcase - A mahogany and mahogany veneered secretary bookcase in two sections, reflecting the George III style. The upper section features a molded cornice above two glazed doors. Each door contains nine individual glass panes separated by decorative wood muntins in a diamond or lozenge pattern. The interior of the upper cabinet is fitted with two adjustable shelves. The lower section consists of a slant-front desk that opens to an interior fitted with a central open compartment, four small drawers with brass knobs, and multiple open pigeonhole cubbies. The writing surface is finished wood. Below the desk are four long, graduated drawers providing storage. The exterior drawers are fitted with brass bail pulls on rounded backplates, and a brass escutcheon is present on the slant front. The piece rests on four large, turned bun feet.
