Federal Style Mahogany Pedestal Executive Desk - A large Federal style revival pedestal executive desk, attributed to Niagara Furniture. The piece is constructed from mahogany with flame mahogany veneers and contrasting light wood string and decorative inlays. The rectangular wood top features a central inlaid fan shaped patera medallion and crossbanded borders. The apron contains four frieze drawers, each fitted with brass swan neck bail handles. The desk is supported by two pedestals, each containing a single cupboard door decorated with a large oval inlaid panel. The pedestals are flanked by stiles featuring vertical, contrasting fluted style inlay. The desk rests on bracket feet. The reverse side is unfinished, indicating design for placement against a wall.
