This is a work of remarkable rarity and enormous historical and legal relevance, offered to the public by Joaquim Monteiro de Albuquerque e Amaral (lawyer of the Court of Appeals). The text details the Crown's claims regarding the properties that Lord D. Fernando, Duke of Braganza, possessed in the district of Pancas (disputed by the so-called Lords of Pancas), preceded by the respective libel and ending with the examination report on a document forgery. An exceptionally beautiful and luxurious copy, boasting entirely gilded edges. It features a magnificent and unusual full leather binding of the period, with the spine richly decorated with gilded rosettes and covers ornamented with an elegant gilded border. Excellent bibliographic pedigree: it bears the ex-libris on paper over the marbled endpapers and the respective dry embossing mark (blind stamp) on the frontispiece of the illustrious J. G. Mazziotti Salema Garção Bookstore, still retaining a provenance note from Auction No. 41 of Soares & Mendonça (Porto, Lot No. 2028). Very good condition.
