This is a magnificent and unusual large-format iconographic work, composed of a 12-page booklet of text and an extraordinary suite of 62 high-quality reproductions of engravings, drawings, and historical photographs that illustrate the life and times of Camilo Castelo Branco. The loose prints, printed on thick, high-grammage paper, reproduce with absolute accuracy rare Camilian portraits from prestigious 19th-century Porto photographic studios, such as the mythical Emílio Biel & C.ª and the photographer Horácio Aranha (Rua do Bonjardim, Porto), also including artistic compositions and highly sensitive modern drawings (such as the expressive evocation of Camilo and Ana Plácido in São Miguel de Seide).
