António Dinis da Cruz e Silva - O Hyssope - António Dinis da Cruz e Silva, organizada por José Ramos Coelho. Published in Lisbon by Empreza do Archivo Pittoresco, printed by Typographia Castro Irmão (Rua da Cruz de Pau, 31), this is an edition of the celebrated heroic-comic satire by António Diniz da Cruz e Silva. The volume, in quarto format (26 x 17 cm), comprises [viii], 461, [iii] pages. The copy has a hard green binding, with the spine decorated with gilt tooling and details. It is in good general condition, showing signs of use and some visible damage to the binding which, however, do not compromise its readability or structural integrity. This copy holds added interest due to its documented provenance: it has an original label on the inner flyleaf attesting to its acquisition at auction no. 491 of the historic auction house Soares & Mendonça, in February 1979, making it a piece of great value for bibliophiles who appreciate the history of dispersals from classic Portuguese libraries.
