Camilo Castelo Branco - Queda d’um Anjo, 2ª Edição - Camilo Castelo Branco, 1873. Published in Lisbon in 1873, this is the second illustrated edition of Camilo Castelo Branco's masterpiece, ”A Queda d’um Anjo” (The Fall of an Angel), revised and corrected by the author himself. The edition was printed by Typographia de G. A. Gutierres da Silva and has an octavo format of 306-[VI] pages. This edition was published during the writer's lifetime and includes an important ”Foreword to the Second Edition” dated 1873 and four curious lithographic prints printed separately, enriching the volume's iconography. The copy is presented in an elegant half-leather binding with marbled triangles and gilded details on the spine. As was customary in the bindings of the time, the top of the leaves is painted red. This edition is a piece of manifest literary and bibliographical value, fundamental to any collection dedicated to Camilo's work.
