Jose de Campos e Sousa - Cerâmica Brazonada - Jose de Campos e Sousa, 1962. Published in 1962 in Lisbon by the Chancellery of the Orders of the Presidency of the Republic, this magnificent and luxurious work constitutes an indispensable and valuable complement to the classic study ”Cerâmica Brazonada” by J. M. de Castro e Solla. Admirably conceived and printed in the most prestigious printing workshops of the time, the publication stands out for its exceptional technical refinement and scientific rigor in faithfully reproducing, in its own heraldic colors and metals (with gold and silver reliefs), the heraldic motifs of approximately 125 pieces that in the original edition had only been documented in black and white prints. This is a unique, numbered edition, strictly limited to only 699 copies in its commercial edition, this copy being number 430 and duly authenticated with the autograph signature of the Chancellor of the Orders. The volume is in very good overall condition, with the text block perfectly clean and firm, and the heraldic prints displaying extraordinary chromatic vibrancy. It retains its original transparent acrylic protective cover which, although fulfilling its protective function, shows visible cracks and damage on the edges. Being a numbered edition of high bibliophilia and a very limited print run, this piece holds great heraldic and artistic interest for collectors of Portuguese emblazoned ceramics and high heraldry of the 20th century.
