Duarte D'Oliveira Junior - O Jardim na Sala - Duarte D'Oliveira Junior, 1876. Published in 1876 in the city of Porto by the Typographia de Bartholomeu H. de Moraes, this horticulture manual by Duarte de Oliveira Júnior—editor of the Jornal de Horticultura Prática and corresponding member of several European botany and arboriculture associations—is an octavo of 306 pages, profusely illustrated with numerous engravings throughout the text, to which is added a separate portrait of the author. The copy has a half-leather binding with marbled corners and cover, displaying gilt details and the top of the pages colored green, showing some signs of wear on the leather. This edition retains, in its final pages, a set of advertising leaflets from the French publisher J. Rothschild, and also has a documented provenance from its acquisition in 1951 by a former collector, Valdemar Cordeiro, as recorded in a handwritten note on the title page.
