Samuel Usque - Consolaçam ás Tribulaçoens de Israel - Samuel Usque, 1906-1907. Published between 1906 and 1907 in the city of Coimbra by the Francisco França Amado publishing house, this edition of Samuel Usque's work, *Consolation to the Tribulations of Israel*, constitutes a historiographical landmark, interpreting, from a prophetic perspective and under the aegis of the magisterium of Sacred Scripture, the history of the sufferings of the Jewish people during the persecutions and expulsions in the Iberian Peninsula. The copy is in perfect condition, presenting the two volumes bound in a single book, with an elegant red half-leather cover decorated with marbled triangles and gilded tooling. The work is illustrated with facsimiles of frontispieces from sixteenth-century editions, highlighting the technical care taken in this study of the Portuguese diaspora.
