Published in 1852 in Porto by the Typographia de Sebastião José Pereira (Praça de Sancta Thereza, No. 28), this rare 1st Edition is a booklet of great interest for the study of Sebastianism and prophetic currents in Portugal. The copy, measuring 21.5 x 13.5 cm and containing 54 pages, features a carefully crafted brown half-leather binding with marbled covers in coral tones, and a spine decorated with fillets, floral motifs, and gold-embossed titles. In terms of conservation, the binding is in impeccable condition, and the text block is perfectly firm and clean, preserving the original paperback cover. This publication, of a very unusual nature and limited circulation, incorporates the reproduction and interpretation of the prophetic universe of the shoemaker from Trancoso, whose exegesis is of paramount importance for the history of mentalities and Portuguese messianic literature of the 19th century.
