António Pereira de Figueiredo - Observaçoens sobre a Ligua e Orthografia Latina..., primeira Edição - António Pereira de Figueiredo, 1765. Published in 1765 in Lisbon, in a highly esteemed and rare first 18th-century edition at the Patriarchal Printing Office of Francisco Ameno, this book was written by the renowned philologist and theologian Father António Pereira de Figueiredo and deals with the orthographic study of the Latin language based on the epigraphic analysis of marbles, bronzes, and medals of the ancient Caesars, from Augustus to the Antonines. It features a contemporary full leather binding with a spine featuring prominent raised bands and elegant decorative tooling engraved in gold and blind. It has a total of 180 pages, is in quarto format (approximately 27 cm high), and its overall state of preservation is very good for a work from the mid-18th century, showing only normal signs of handling on the binding and occasional very light acid stains on the endpapers that do not affect the text block, which is clean and firm. The copy is further enhanced by bearing an ownership label and the signature of the illustrious Agostinho de Mendonça Falcão.
