António Cândido - Orações Funebres - António Cândido, 1880. Published in 1880 in Porto by Livraria Universal de Magalhães & Moniz, Editores, this work by the prestigious orator António Cândido is presented in a 19x12 cm format with a total of 172 pages. The book brings together important pieces of funeral rhetoric, notably the speech given at the burial in the Igreja dos Congregados (Porto) on April 3, 1874, and the oration in homage to D. Maria da Conceição P. da Silva Forjaz e Menezes. The copy is bound in an elegant period brown half-leather binding with marbled corners and planes, bearing gold tooling and title engraved on the spine over a dark label, as well as striking blue fancy paper endpapers. The overall condition is very good, with a perfectly firm structure, clean text block, and an old ownership signature on the title page.
