Museum Quality Italian Renaissance Silver on Copper Situla
One the finest chased and raised relief double handled Situla, with a Italian Renaissances mythological motif border separated by braids and seated on fish serpent feet. Has rotating tigers lionesses and peacocks drinking from the water fountains as shown. Figural cherub mast like faces adorn the handles. Both sides of the top rim hallmarked with dragons as shown. The silver has worn in areas consistently with age throughout. Measuring approx 11" tall x 11.5" diameter. Note one round applied accent missing from one handle
