American Empire Acanthus Carved Leaded Glass Mahogany Bookcase
A stately mid 19th century American Empire tall form bookcase with two leading glass front doors, acanthus carved columns seated on front hairy paw feet. Measuring approx approx 83" tall x 18" deep crown top (11" interior depth) x 57" wide. Normal scuffs and imperfections throughout, few veneer losses on top crown ogee as shown, see photos for details. Circa 1850-60, probably New York or Philadelphia cabinet maker. Provenance: from an important Cleveland Ohio private collection
