The base is made out of brass hued metal . The handle is made out of red colored wood. The pencil sharpener itself is a cartoon figure of a man dressed in lederhosen and a green plaid top, with a green and red hat. He is smoking a cigar. Some wear consistent with age and exposure. Losses in paint on base. On the back of the base of the sharpener, it reads, KUM West Germany and D.B.Pat. D.B.G.M. angm. Regd.
