1964 Colorado State Rifle Assn Northern Division - Scarce shooting competition medal from the 1964 Northern Division Colorado State Rifle Association championship, awarded for second place in the marksman class gallery event. The obverse features a detailed rifleman in a prone position aiming downrange, with a target bullseye below, all rendered in silvered bronze. The reverse is blank, maker-marked Blackinton. Suspended from a tricolor ribbon in red, gold, and purple by a cast brass bar engraved with the event details and year. Both the front and back show natural aging consistent with a medal earned and preserved for six decades. The silvering on the obverse has mellowed to a warm patina, while the reverse retains its original finish. The ribbon remains vibrant despite age. Blackinton was a premier American medal maker, and his work here reflects the quality expected of official competition awards.
