Teshu'os Chen, the Sefer of the holy Rav Rabbi Gedalya of Linitz, Barditchev 1816. First edition. Wonderful innovations by Rabbi Gedlaya the son of Rabbi Yitzchak, who was Rav in Ropolya, Ostropoli and eventually, Linitz. Printed in Berditchev with an approbation by the holy Rav Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev and his son the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel of Pikov. Rabbi Gedalya of Linitz [1738-1804] [1738-1804] was one of the illustrious patriarchs of the Chassidic movement. In his youth, he was acquainted with the holy Baal Shem Tov and studied as well by the Maggid of Mezritch. His main rabbis, however, were Rabbi Yaakov Yosef of Polonne, author of the Toldos, and Rabbi Leib of Polonne, whom he mentions numerous times in his writings, calling him the ”Rav Hamochiach.” One of his famed disciples was the holy Rav Rabbi Sholom Shachneh of Prohovitch.
