Rabbi Yissachar Shlomo Teichtal (1885-1945) was born in Hungary into a well-known rabbinical family. At age twenty one, he received rabbinic ordination from R. Shmuel Rosenberg of Unsdorf and R. Mordechai Leib Winkler of Mad. In 1921 he became the Av Beis Din of Pishtian, Czechoslovakia where he established the Moriah Yeshiva. He was a prolific writer, and authored a number of important rabbinic works including his halachic reponsa Mishnah Sachir, as well as Eim Habanim Sameichah concerning the Jewish people and their relationship with the land of Israel.
