Rare: Carpentras (France) Rite Festival Machzor, Amsterdam, 1759, With Rare L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue Leaves. A complete copy of the rare Machzor printed in Amsterdam exclusively for the Carpentras Jewish community of southeast France. Carpentras is undoubtedly one of the oldest Jewish communities in France. The synagogue, which is still in use today, was built in 1367. This is the first printed edition, as previously all Machzorim of Carpentras existed only in manuscript form. Only 600 copies of this Machzor were ever published, rendering this edition extremely rare. Size: 17.5 cm Pages : [2] 21, 19-30 [1] 31-33 [1], 34-149, [4] 150-219 [3]. Condition : Very fine condition, worming to first few pages and last 3 pages.
