Banned: Achad Bedoro, Biography of Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman, Tel Aviv 1970. Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman (1888-1969), learned under the great Roshei Yeshiva of Lithuania, including R. Eliezer Gordon and R. Shimon Shkop, in the Novardok Yeshiva and later under the Chofetz Chaim in Radin. He married the daughter of R. Leib Rubin, then the Rav in Vidz, and first served as Rav in Vidz and then as Rav in Ponevezh, where he established a prominent Yeshiva. Aside from his astounding proficiency in Torah, the Ponevezher Rav was extremely charismatic and served as a member of the Lithuanian parliament on behalf of the Agudas Yisroel. Following his escape from the Holocaust, he invested all of his energy into reestablishing the Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak in particular, and on re-establishing Torah following the Holocaust. 2 volumes.
