A highly important edition of Meginé Eretz – the Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chaim, with various commentaries, including for the first time the novellae of the Gaon Rabbi Akiva Eiger zt”l on the Shulchan Aruch, printed from his original manuscripts. These notes have since become an inseparable part of all later editions of the Shulchan Aruch and are regarded as a major cornerstone of halachic and yeshiva study. The edition was printed in 1862 by the author’s son, Rabbi Itzek Leib Eiger, who prefaced the work with a moving introduction in memory of his illustrious father, providing a few details about the preparation and transcription of these novellae from the original handwritten manuscripts. The work remains the earliest and most authoritative source for Rabbi Akiva Eiger’s halachic commentary on Orach Chaim. Two sections, each with two separate title pages.
