Sefer Choshev Machshavot, drashot and halachah regarding mikvah and tefillin on Chol Hamoed, commentary on the Tanach and Mishnah and more, by mekubal Rabbi Emanuel Chai Rikki, author of the Mishnas Chassidim. Rabbi Emanuel Chai Ricchi (1668-1743), author of Mishnas Chassidim, was a prominent mekubal who moved to Eretz Yisrael and established his yeshivah and beis medrash in Yerushalayim (Yeshivas Ohr HaChaim later moved into that same beis medrash). In 1741, he went to Italy, to fundraise for his yeshivah. On his way back, when he left Modena to Bologna, he was attacked by bandits who killed him when he refused to eat pig meat. Amongst his belongings was a transcript of a dream, in which he wrote that he is rooted in the Tana Rav Yehuda ben Bava, who was also a ”harugei malchus.” Admor Rabbi Shlomo Friedman of Chortkov (1894-1959) was the son of Rabbi Nochum Mordechai Friedman of Chortkov, and son-in-law of his uncle, Rabbi Yisrael of Sadigur. A scion of greatness, his paternal grandfather was the Admor Rabbi Yisrael Friedman of Chortkov; his maternal grandfather was the Admor Rabbi Shlomo Friedman of Sadigur. Rabbi Shlomo of Chortkov’s father fled from Vienna with his family prior to the outbreak of World War 2. He immigrated to Israel, where he established his Chassidic Court in Tel Aviv. Upon his passing, Rabbi Nochum’s son, Rabbi Shlomo, succeeded his father as Admor, becoming the fourth Admor in the Chortkov dynasty. Rabbi Shlomo authored the book, ‘Divrei Shlomo’.
