Complete nice set: The Holy Zohar, Shapira Press, Slavita 1824-1827. Sefer Zohar by the Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, edited and amended based on the Constantinople edition. A complete and beautiful set, printed on light green paper with title pages in red ink and with wide margins. This edition of Sefer HaZohar was printed by Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Shapira, son of the Slavita Rav, Rabbi Moshe Shapira. This edition was printed with the approbations of the holy Geonim: the author of the 'Degel Machaneh Ephraim', Rabbi Chaim HaKohen, Av Beit Din of Pinsk, Rabbi Mordechai Margolios of Brod, zya”a, and others. On the reverse of the title page of Sefer Vayikrah, the printers explain that they printed the Zohar according to the Constantinople printing and not according to the Amsterdam printing, since the Constantinople edition is considered more accurate. In places where errors were found even in the Constantinople printing, they write that “we searched and searched thoroughly through many versions of the Zohar, both new and old, early versions from many, many years… and now these books of the Zohar are regarded as corrected, tenfold more so than all the earlier Zohar printings.” “Every man who fears heaven should endeavor to purchase old editions of sefarim that were printed by those who fear Hashem, and especially by the printers in Slavita and Zhitomir, the grandsons of the Rebbe of Koritz” (Shomer Emunim, Taharas Hakodesh Ch. 6) Volume I - Bereishis : Slavita 1827, [3], 251, 17, leaves.
