Historicism Wall Shield, ”Amazon with battle axe” - Cast iron, with a dark age patina. A large and detailedly crafted wall relief made of cast iron, produced in the Historicism style around 1880/90. The composition features a central escutcheon, crowned by a helmet with lavish mantling and flanked by a crossed halberd and spear. The main relief on the shield depicts the classic and dynamic scene of a fighting Amazon on horseback. The high quality of the casting is evident in the fine execution of the details, good age-appropriate condition with a beautiful, authentic rust patina, lacquered on the reverse, 40 x 33 x 8 cm (HxWxD). Ein großes und detailreich gearbeitetes Wandrelief aus Gusseisen, gefertigt im Stil des Historismus um 1880/90. Die Komposition zeigt ein zentrales Wappenschild, das von einem Helm mit üppiger Helmdecke bekrönt und von einer gekreuzten Hellebarde und einem Speer flankiert wird. Das Hauptrelief auf dem Schild stellt die klassische und dynamische Szene einer kämpfenden Amazone zu Pferde dar. Die hohe Qualität des Gusses zeigt sich in der feinen Ausarbeitung der Details, altersgemäß guter Zustand mit einer schönen, authentischen Rostpatina, rückseitig lackiert, 40 x 33 x 8 cm (HxBxT).
