Austria Franz Joseph I. Silver Signum Laudis with Swords in Dedication Case Mayer's Söhne - Original Austro-Hungarian award from the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The medal is silver plated and is attached to a movable, elaborate imperial crown. The obverse shows the right-facing portrait of the Emperor with the circumscription ”FRANCISCVS IOS. I. D. G. IMP. AVST. REX BOH. ETC. ET REX APOST. HVNG.”. The reverse bears the inscription ”SIGNVM LAVDIS” within a wreath. The medal is on the original war ribbon with applied crossed gold-colored swords. Included is the dark red original case with the gold-embossed dedication on the lid: ”Vom Offizierskorps des k. u. k. Otocaner Infanterieregiments Graf Jellacic No 79” (From the Officer Corps of the Imperial and Royal Otočac Infantry Regiment Count Jellačić No. 79). The white silk lining inside the lid identifies the manufacturer ”V. MAYER’S SÖHNE” as ”K.K. Hof- u. Kammer-Juweliere” (Imperial-Royal Court and Chamber Jewelers) and ”Ordenfabrikanten” (Order Manufacturers) in Vienna. Die Medaille ist versilbert und ist an einer beweglichen, ausgearbeiteten Kaiserkrone befestigt. Die Schauseite zeigt das nach rechts blickende Porträt des Kaisers mit der Umschrift „FRANCISCVS IOS. I. D. G. IMP. AVST. REX BOH. ETC. ET REX APOST. HVNG.“. Die Rückseite trägt den Schriftzug „SIGNVM LAVDIS“ innerhalb eines Kranzes. Die Medaille befindet sich am originalen Kriegsband mit aufgelegten gekreuzten goldfarbene Schwertern. Dazu gehört das dunkelrote Original-Etui mit der goldgeprägten Widmung auf dem Deckel: „Vom Offizierskorps des k. u. k. Otocaner Infanterieregiments Graf Jellacic No 79“. Das weiße Seidenfutter im Deckelinneren weist den Hersteller „V. MAYER’S SÖHNE“ als „K.K. Hof- u. Kammer-Juweliere“ und „Ordenfabrikanten“ in Wien aus.
